The Garland

An Award-Winning Hotel near Universal Studios

Originally built in 1972 by Fillmore Crank for his wife, Beverly Garland, a critically acclaimed American film and television actress, The Garland is an award-winning hotel with true Hollywood roots. Ranked #2 in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Awards “Top 12 Hotels in Los Angeles,” the hotel offers an ideal location, just minutes from Hollywood’s most popular destinations and attractions, including Universal Studios and Universal CityWalk, Hollywood and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Garland most recently completed a $20 million multi-phase renovation and redesign that transformed the historic enclave into a mid-century oasis. Overseen by the couple’s youngest son, James Crank, the hotel now boasts 257 renovated non-smoking guestrooms and suites with chic design and plush bedding, updated public spaces, and the addition of Beverly Park, a lovely outdoor garden designed for weddings and other events. At the cornerstone of the renovation was the opening of The Front Yard, a Southern California bohemian-designed eatery featuring L.A. inspired dishes. Nestled under towering sycamore trees, The Front Yard has an abundance of glass doors and windows that allow the interior space to seamlessly flow onto the spacious outdoor dining patio, making it a favorite hangout among locals for al fresco weekend brunch and late night happy hour.
Tucked into seven shaded acres only a few miles from the heart of Los Angeles’ entertainment and business destinations, The Garland offers more than 16,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space with catering services available. The hotel also features an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub with an expansive sun deck and poolside bar, lobby bar, business center and fitness room with a variety of exercise equipment. Complimentary Wi-Fi high-speed Internet is available in the guestrooms and throughout the hotel.
