Award-winning Adults-Only Canary Islands Hotel

Located in the heart of the historic town of Tazacorte, on the island of San Miguel de La Palma, the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo is the result of a careful and loving restoration of an old sugar plantation estate of the 17th century.

The hotel is magnificently situated between lush and rich vegetation, on top of a wild coast overlooking an ocean of pure and intensely blue waters, with a warm and sunny climate and lavishly starry nights. It is an adults-only hotel (16+), offering 32 exquisitely decorated rooms with art from the 1st to the 20th century, complimentary Spa access, freshwater, salt-treated outdoor swimming pool, and parking. There is also a meeting facility that can accommodate up to 40 people.

The Hotel Hacienda de Abajo’s unique restaurant, El Sitio, offers an incomparable view of the Atlantic Ocean, beautiful décor and gastronomical presentations where unique and innovative flavors, intoxicating aromas and subtle nuances merge in a cuisine that combines ancient local preparations with rich and elaborate international influences.

Awarded TripAdvisor’s’ 2017 Top 25 Best Spain Hotels, Condé Nast’s 2016 Best Non Urban Hotel in Spain, and Hispania Nostra’s Medalla al Merito Turístico for sustainability and quality, the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo reflects its rich history and trade with Flanders, Andalusia and the West Indies. The first hotel to be built in Tazacorte, the hotel has been officially recognized as the first “Emblematic Hotel” in the Canary Islands – a category that only exists in the islands, marking the finest historic buildings.
